Block 2:
Getting into his thoughts on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Taz thought Roman Reigns and John Cena had a fantastic promo segment. He thinks both performers certainly had some creative freedom in that promo which made it feel more real, but he still assumes most of it was scripted.
However, Taz really didn’t like that WWE ended this fantastic segment with a tag team match. He thought the segment should have ended with tension after Reigns flipped over the table, but instead we got a tag team match for the second straight week where these two men were forced to team together.
In terms of the actual content in this promo, Taz thought Cena got legitimately mad at one point and that really fired him up. He thought Cena got the better of Reigns, but Reigns recovered well after getting lost at one point. Reigns is a big, bad-ass Samoan who cut a serviceable promo on his end, and did his part in selling this fight. This match, along with the Brock Lesnar/Braun Strowman match proves that WWE is really going all-in on No Mercy.
Taz didn’t have an issue with Jeff Hardy winning the Battle Royal to start the show. He thought it would have been too obvious if Finn Balor won, so Hardy’s win was somewhat of a surprise. Taz liked that WWE teased Jason Jordan winning, but then pulled it out from underneath him at the last minute. He says if he had to pick a winner, he would have liked Elias to win. He thinks Elias continues to improve and he’s starting to get over with the WWE Universe.
