While watching SummerSlam, Lane mentions that Alvarez tweeted out ”Can we keep it on the Japanese announcers?”. Russo has no idea what this even means, but the only way he’d listen to Japanese announcers commentate a wrestling match is if they were female and topless.
Jason Powell spoke last week about Booker T constantly telling the truth on recent RAW broadcasts, by saying things like ‘Reigns was voted most hated wrestler’. Powell doesn’t want Booker T to lose his job, but he thinks it’d be hilarious if telling the truth is what finally gets Booker fired. Russo jokes that maybe WWE can replace Booker T with a Japanese commentator, and maybe then these dirt sheet marks will be satisfied.
In all seriousness, this was a very contradictory statement from Powell. In one sense he doesn’t want Booker T to lose his job, but he also says it’d be funny if Booker T lost his job in this fashion. Russo thinks it’s silly that any fan or ‘journalist’ would actually hope for a WWE employee to lose his/her employment. Personal preference is one thing, but when you start to question people’s livelihood things become very serious.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
