Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Lane points out that Ryan Satin sent out a tweet during SummerSlam saying that Paul Heyman deserved an Academy Award for his performance during the main event match, while Braun Strowman was brutalising Brock Lesnar. Russo thinks the complete opposite, saying that Heyman’s emotional performance was one of the worst performances in the history of professional wrestling.
Russo points out that in a real life scenario no grown man is going to cry while watching a friend during a fight, unless the other person is a family member and you’re unable to help them. Russo has been saying for a while now that Heyman is basically a cartoon character, and since all these marks are in awe of him for some reason, they’re unable to accurately critique his work.
Russo informs that he watched a couple of minutes of a NJPW show that was on early one morning last week. He saw one performer hit a piledriver from the top rope and the recipient kicked out at 1. He immediately turned it off because he couldn’t handle anymore of that foolishness. He simply doesn’t understand how some people consider that to be superior wrestling.
