Block 2:
Taz says he was very excited to see Shelton Benjamin return to WWE on last Tuesday’s Smackdown Live, but he wasn’t happy to learn that Benjamin is going to be tagging with Chad Gable. Taz is a fan of both of these men’s in-ring work, but he doesn’t think it’s necessary to team them up right now. He also thought Gable’s ‘mark out’ reaction to learning that he was going to tag with Benjamin was somewhat awkward.
Taz goes on to say that promo work has never been Benjamin’s strong point. It’s not that Benjamin wasn’t prepared for his backstage promo on Smackdown last Tuesday, he simply isn’t that good when put in those spots. Taz thinks that Benjamin would be best served by having a Manager of sorts who can do his talking for him, while Benjamin takes care of business in the ring.
As for Chad Gable, Taz would like to see WWE move him to 205 Live where they could put the Title on him and push him heavily. He thinks that show is in need of more stars and if Gable meets the weight requirements, WWE should let him flourish there where he’d be able to have fantastic Cruiserweight Title matches with Neville.
Taz thinks that WWE choosing to have Asuka relinquish her NXT Title was a fine idea, but he would have went about it differently. He would have made this official on WWE’s biggest show; Monday Night RAW, by having William Regal appear next Monday to make the announcement. Nonetheless, he understands why they did in on NXT as well, in front of the fans who have watched all of Asuka’s Title reign.
