He thought that the match between Jason Jordan and Finn Balor was unbelievable from the start because Jordan absolutely towered over Balor. He also points out that the Brooklyn crowd even disrespected their ‘hero’ Balor on this evening by playing with a beach ball and starting stupid chants. Russo has no idea why Jordan lost again, unless WWE plans on having him start to cheat in order to win.
Speaking about the tag team match between The Hardys and Rollins/Ambrose, Russo thought this match was simply bad. The timing was off and these four competitors certainly weren’t working on all four cylinders for whatever reason. The funny part about it, is this match somehow generated a ‘This is Awesome’ chant from the Brooklyn audience.
It didn’t surprise Russo that The Miz took the pinfall in the main event of the evening, and Russo had no issue with the match. He says he’s happy that WWE is actually mixing up the talents and finding new creative directions for most of the performers.
Moving onto Smackdown Live, Russo wonders what WWE is doing with Kevin Owens right now. Owens has been on the main roster for several years now, but it still appears as if WWE has no idea what his character is. He’s cycled through several gimmicks, most recently the ‘Face of America’, and now he’s just regular old ‘KO’ again? This doesn’t make any sense to Russo.
