Russo says he loves Elias Samson, but picking up a win over R-Truth at this point does absolutely nothing for Samson. Lane also points out that although Samson does a good job with the guitar/singing gimmick, the writers really need to get more creative when writing the lyrics for Samson’s songs. He says the same generic things every week, and Lane thinks that’s going to hurt Samson in the long run. Russo agrees with that point.
Russo thinks the inclusion of John Cena on Monday Night RAW instantaneously makes RAW a better show. Lane agrees and thinks that The Miz is similar in that sense. Lane believes The Miz’s passion on the mic and charisma in the ring would have made him a big star in any era of WWE’s history.
Russo believes Brooklyn’s reaction to John Cena and Roman Reigns’ in-ring segment was incredibly disrespectful. It’s obvious that these audiences are just trying to get themselves over by booing babyfaces and cheering heels, but the way they booed both Cena and Reigns in this segment was over the top. Russo wished Cena or Reigns would have lashed out at the audience.
Once Samoa Joe came out Russo thought the segment fell apart, and once the physicality broke out in the ring Russo thought Joe’s offence on Cena looked absolutely terrible.
