Russo is annoyed by the way that WWE continues to present Jinder Mahal. WWE continues to utilize Mahal as a ‘chickensh**’ heel, but that logic doesn’t make sense when the heel is as big and credible as Mahal is. Russo points out that Mahal looks like he could realistically defeat anyone on WWE’s roster, and he should be presented as a threatening, destructive heel that WWE’s top babyfaces simply can’t beat.
Vito liked the Universal Title match, and he specifically loved how strong Braun Strowman was booked in this bout. He does admit that Samoa Joe felt like the odd man out during this match, and he was simply out of place in this spot with three massive performers like Reigns, Strowman and Lesnar.
Russo says that he also enjoyed how Strowman was presented during the main event, but Paul Heyman’s cartoonish antics at ringside while Lesnar was laid out almost ruined the moment for him. Vito agrees with that and says that Heyman’s overly dramatic performance was a bit much.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
