Block 4:
Taz welcomes Mike Johnson from PWInsider to the show.
Johnson says he was live in Brooklyn for the show and he thoroughly enjoyed the main event. He appreciated the work by all the talents on the rest of the card, especially The Usos vs. The New Day on the Kickoff Show which he though overachieved given it’s spot on the show.
Taz and Johnson agree that there must be some backstage heat on Rusev right now after his split second loss to Randy Orton. Johnson adds that he has heard rumours about the backstage heat on Baron Corbin, and those rumours appear to be true after Corbin was defeated by Cena at SummerSlam just days after being embarrassed with a failed cash-in attempt last Tuesday.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz what his favourite match from SummerSlam weekend was. He says that he’s a big fan of Bobby Roode and he really enjoyed the main event match from Takeover featuring Roode and Drew McIntrye. However if he has to pick one, he’d pick the main event of SummerSlam because he thought all four of those big men delivered on Sunday night.
Taz doesn’t think John Cena will get a 17th World Title win. He believes Cena is going to ride off into the sunset soon and he was actually surprised to see Cena defeat Corbin at SummerSlam.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
