Ryback thinks that Hulk Hogan’s leg drop is one of the most over finishing moves of all time. When Hogan dropped that leg, everyone knew the match was over. While some people might criticize that move because it’s rather simplistic, there’s no denying the effectiveness of the move.
He goes on to list Triple H’s ‘Pedigree’, The Undertaker’s ‘Tombstone Piledriver’, Randy Orton’s ‘RKO’ and Steve Austin’s ‘Stunner’ as his top four finishing moves of all time.
Ryback believes that people really need to work on getting their finishing moves over by beating people with it. He informs that Big Show is the only competitor who has kicked out of his finisher, and he fought that creative decision. McMahon insisted that Big Show kick out of it so Ryback agreed because he loves and respects Big Show. He also says that if anyone is going to kick out of your finisher, it should be a 7-foot giant.
Speaking about Joey Ryan’s ‘dick flip’ finisher, Ryback says he has no issue with it. He says that if Ryan is making money with that move, then good for him. However, he’d love for Ryan to add another layer or backstory to the move. While Mick Foley’s ‘Mr. Socko’ or Santino’s ‘Cobra’ were both silly moves, at least they inflicted some physical pain on the opponent. Ryan’s penis isn’t visually doing anything to cause the opponent pain, so that’s a problem in Ryback’s opinion.
That sums up this week’s episode of Conversation with the Big Guy. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
