As seen on WWE programming this week, Baron Corbin lost his Money in the Bank cash-in attempt and also lost his match at SummerSlam against John Cena.
Dave Meltzer discussed Corbin’s status on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and indicated that Corbin is definitely being punished for his actions on Twitter recently.
“He’s definitely being punished, there isn’t any question now,” said Meltzer.
Meltzer mention that Corbin was purposely booked to look like an “afterthought” and the company didn’t give Corbin a chance to have a good match. Meltzer would speculate that Bobby Roode could possibly be taking Corbin’s “spot” on Smackdown Live brand as one of the top heels.
Speaking of Roode, he is being rumored to arrive to the main roster soon. Bryan Alvarez mentioned a couple weeks back that WWE is planning to have another Superstar Shakeup which may take place on September 11th. If that is the case, it is very possible that WWE holds off on bringing him up until that time.
