Baron is not the person you want if you’re going to have a back-and-forth chain wrestling match. He works best in physical bouts such as his fights against Kalisto, Jack Swagger, and that Street Fight against Dean Ambrose. Even his match against Randy Orton was really good.
Just because he lost the Money in the Bank cash-in doesn’t mean he’ll never challenge for the title again. Baron Corbin is not Damien Sandow (and that’s not a knock against either man). Sandow was a fall guy to get rid of the contract so they could unify the titles. There’s clearly a plan for Corbin.
He Will Be Champion One Day
Right now Corbin is only 32 going on 33 next month. There’s still a lot of time for him to grow as a competitor and as a wrestler. Right now, I think there’s still a lot of room for him to improve. But in 3 years time, he will be a champion.
No one batted an eye when he was in the triple threat for the WWE title or in the Elimination Chamber. People thought he could win the Royal Rumble. People see something in him. Give it time. Let it grow. Soon enough, we won’t have flashbacks of Jinder Mahal when Corbin snags the gold.
When he does become a champion, he shouldn’t be a Kevin Owens or a Miz. He shouldn’t be Seth Rollins. He should just be one of those champions who raises hell and leaves. A cowardly championship reign should be avoided. It would be alright for him to take shortcuts every now and then, but he shouldn’t have to rely on them. He should just beat the hell out of everyone who challenges him.
These are my predictions, and if I am wrong, I’ll gladly be on the receiving end of an End of Days.
