Russo has no idea what WWE is planning for Baron Corbin moving forward, because he was made to look silly on Tuesday night. He says that the only thing that could make this make sense is if Corbin defeats Cena at SummerSlam and immediately enters a program with Mahal anyways, in which case the briefcase wouldn’t have mattered.
Russo also pointed out that when Corbin cashed in the referee gave Mahal enough time to recover in the corner, and this ultimately cost Corbin the match. He adds that the announce team made a note of this, saying that the referee doesn’t always give the Champion this much time to recover, which leads Russo to believe that this might factor into a future storyline.
If that’s the case, he believes that the announce team should have made an even bigger deal about it. Russo has never seen the referee give the defending Champion that much time to recover, and it basically took away Corbin’s advantage. He believes the announce team really should have focused on that and made an even bigger deal about it.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
