Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Russo’s very surprised to say that RAW was a very solid show on Monday night. He says that someone came in creatively and injected some life into this show, and he’s sure that Vince McMahon didn’t write the show because this didn’t resemble a Vince McMahon show by any means. He knows that it was the go-home show for SummerSlam, but he’s seen a lot of bad go-home shows lately.
Russo thought the Boston crowd was great and even lit a fire under the announce team. He says the announce team was audibly excited during the broadcast and that never happens. The crowd was lively but they weren’t ‘marks’ because they actually booed the heels for the most part.
He says that he doesn’t agree with Sasha Banks beating Nia Jax on RAW, but he assumes WWE is looking to book Banks versus Bliss one more time before moving on to Jax and Bliss. Russo wouldn’t take that route because he believes this creative is hurting Jax in the meantime, and he doesn’t believe her character should be losing so much, especially by tapping out.
