Lawler says that he regrets not working with Flair more often during their careers because they had great chemistry both in the ring and on the mic. He says that Flair was so fluid in the ring and was very easy to work with. He says that when someone is very stiff to work with in the ring they’re called a ‘crowbar’ in the wrestling business, and David Flair was a former WCW Tag Team Champion with a Superstar called ‘Crowbar’. Lawler assumes that ‘Crowbar’ was pretty stiff in the ring to have a nickname like that.
A listener writes into the show and asks Lawler if his 2004 match with Flair was planned out before hand, or if they called it in the ring. Lawler informs that it was all called in the ring, and that was common place for both of those guys back then. They always called their matches in the ring so they could adjust things on the fly if the fans were reacting to certain things more than others.
Lawler urges his listeners to pray for Flair, and he’s sure Flair will kick out of this health scare and will be back better than ever soon enough.
That sums up today’s episode of Dinner with the King. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
