Next, Lane plays a clip of Bryan Alvarez who says that Jinder Mahal’s promo work sucks, and his in-ring work isn’t up to par either.
Russo says that Alvarez is a failed independent wrestler who couldn’t cut it in WWE, and these remarks stink of jealously. Alvarez is clearly jealous of the fact that Mahal is in this successful situation and he’s not, even though he thinks he deserves it more than Mahal. This is probably the same reason that Alvarez and others claim that Mahal is on steroids, because that’s how they can easily explain why he looks better than they do.
Another clip of Meltzer and Alvarez present them discussing the trio of Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. They both agreed that out of those three men, Joe’s the one who came off as the star during recent in-ring promo segments as well as the matches. Russo points out that Strowman is a monster and Reigns looks like a movie star, while Joe simply looks overweight. He points out that no casual fan is going to agree with Meltzer and Alvarez in saying that Joe looks like the biggest star amongst those three men.
Lane points out that someone tweeted Meltzer this past week asking him which performer would have a better match in Japan during their prime, Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. Meltzer responded by saying that A.J. Styles would have a better match than either, and Chris Benoit would probably have the best match out of any former WWE Superstar.
