Ross opens today’s show by sending his best wishes and prayers to Ric Flair and his family after Flair was hospitalized over the weekend. He says he loves Flair, and he considers Flair to be the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Flair is a fighter and even survived a plane crash at one point, so there’s no way Flair is going to give up easily in this case either.
Ross says he has high expectations for SummerSlam, and he expects it to be an outstanding presentation. He’s anxious to see how Nakamura and Jinder Mahal mesh bell to bell, and he thinks this match has the potential to be a ‘shocker’ because he doesn’t believe many fans are giving it a chance to succeed.
He also thinks Lesnar is going to retain his Universal Title at SummerSlam, and this Fatal 4-way will set up a feud going forward between Lesnar and Braun Strowman. Ross still believes that Strowman is WWE’s next top star because he turns head wherever he goes, and his size allows him to be impressive in the ring without having to execute dangerous, risky move. This leads one to believe that he has a long shelf life as a WWE Superstar and that’s very inviting for WWE officials.
Ross urges his listeners to sign up to the WWE Network if they can afford it because the Network provides terrific value at its $9.99 price. Ross says that while he’s in town for SummerSlam he’s going to be filming something for a new WWE Network show and he’s not even sure what it’s going to be yet. Whatever it turns out to be, he’s looking forward to it.
