Joe believes that his father’s work ethic, and the work ethic that was instilled in him from that very young age has allowed him to deal with WWE’s travel expectations without a whole lot of adjustment. The consistent lack of sleep is challenging, but it only makes him appreciate what his father did for all those years even more.
Garcia points out that Joe is now a father of two himself, and asks him how that impacts his travel regimen in WWE. Joe admits that it’s difficult leaving his children for the amount of time that he’s on the road, because this lifestyle basically makes you an absentee parent. He relies on his wife to take care of his children and do the work of two parents while he’s gone, and he really appreciates her for that.
Joe says he has really enjoyed working with Brock Lesnar as of late and he has a tremendous amount of respect for The Beast. He says it takes an incredible amount of belief in yourself to leave a comfortable situation in order to try something brand new, like Lesnar did by leaving WWE back in the day to try his hand at football and MMA.
That sums up this week’s episode of Lillian Garcia’s Chasing Glory. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
