Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.
Hausman mentions that starting on August 18th the WWE Network will be made available in China. Bischoff says that he’s no expert on the Chinese economy, but there is a huge market in China and WWE is going to make a lot of money from this deal. He adds that Shane McMahon left for China in the late 2000’s, and his advancements there may have partially led to this agreement.
Bischoff doesn’t want to speculate as to what led to Shane’s departure from WWE in the first place, but he points out that Stephanie McMahon is the spitting image of her father. Shane, on the other hand, is his mother’s son and there may have been some tension between the siblings. They’re both very strong, dynamic people, but their personalities are quite different.
Bischoff says he doesn’t believe that Disney is interested in purchasing WWE. He says that Disney represents wholesome family entertainment, and WWE’s physical product would be a significant variance from their brand. In addition, he doesn’t think that Vince McMahon would ever sell his controlling interest in the company.
