Russo says he hopes that WWE is going somewhere with this ‘Lana can’t wrestle’ angle. If it’s part of a storyline he’s fine with it, but if this is nothing more than a running gag he doesn’t get it. As a fan, if WWE continues to tell us that this woman can’t wrestle, why does she keep appearing on our screens in wrestling rings week after week?
Russo says if he was booking Smackdown Live, he’d make sure there were some ramifications for A.J. Styles’ kick to Shane McMahon’s head. He points out that if Dana White was trying to separate two UFC fighters and one of them punched him in the head by accident, there’d still be ramifications. Russo thinks WWE storylines need to be more reality based.
Russo says that WWE made a huge mistake by beating Jinder Mahal Tuesday night. He says if he was booking, he’d never beat Mahal and he’d make him indestructible because he looks and acts the part. He adds that if Nakamura defeats Mahal to claim the WWE Championship at SummerSlam now, he hasn’t really accomplished anything because Mahal was just beaten on television.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
