Blocks 3 & 4:
Taz liked the Street Profits’ debut on NXT last night. WWE put a lot of time into hyping these guys up through vignettes, and fans seemed to be behind them during their in-ring debut. However, Taz would have preferred they started their match with a little more up-tempo action.
Taz also points out that Percy Watson appears to be a big fan of the team, and Nigel McGuiness isn’t. This is a little bit too obvious in Taz’s opinion. Taz would have had those roles reversed, with Watson being critical of them. This would have been different and would have given Watson an edge at the commentary booth.
A listener calls into the show and asks Taz for his opinion on WWE no longer using pyro. Taz says that WWE cutting pyro certainly had a lot to do with them trying to save money. Taz had a pretty good relationship with the pyro guys who worked for WWE, and they told him that it costs thousands of dollars every time WWE utilizes one piece of pyro. Taz also estimates that the pyro show that used to open RAW and Smackdown probably cost $8,000-$10,000 each show. That adds up very quickly.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
