The second thing that bothers him about RAW is week is the creative team’s laziness, because he feels there’s a lack of passion and desire in WWE’s creative team today. There’s a million other things for viewers to watch today, and they aren’t going to tune into WWE programming each week if all they get is re-runs.
Whether you love Russo or hate him, he says that nobody has put the same type of effort into writing wrestling shows as he did, not even Vince McMahon. If a certain show had his name on it, he wanted it to be the best that it could possibly be.
No matter what role he has worked in throughout his life, he always wanted to do the best possible job he could because it’s his face and brand that he’s putting on the line. Whether it’s owning his own business, writing wrestling or podcasting, he has always given 100%.
He says that the wrestling dirt sheets hate him because he tried to write entertainment into wrestling shows and these guys all mark out over in-ring action. Because of this, he’s still dealing with criticism from these guys, who label him homophobic and sexist for no apparent reason.
