Russo says he watched RAW on Monday night and while he won’t get into a full analysis of the show, there are a few things he needs to mention. He says that this was another typical, lazy episode of RAW and nothing changes on a week to week basis anymore. When the show starts he already can’t wait for it to end, and that’s a bad sign.
He feels that there are two things that simply aren’t going to change regarding RAW moving forward; the tough 3-hour run length, and the challenges that arose as a result of the brand split. He has no idea why WWE proceeded with a brand split last year because he feels you need all your players on the same roster. If not, each show feels like a repeat of the week before.
We’ve seen that over the last couple weeks with Seth Rollins challenging Sheamus last week and Cesaro this week, and Dean Ambrose challenging Cesaro last week and Sheamus this week. Nothing refreshing happens from one week to the next and that’s a damning situation to be in.
There are also two things that really bother Russo about RAW right now. The first thing is the way the talents work. He thinks it’s only a matter of time before someone’s going to get paralyzed, all for a 5-star rating. Unfortunately, when that happens Dave Meltzer isn’t going to pay their hospital bills. He says that this is a business, and the goal is to remain healthy and employed. You don’t need to kill yourself for the business of professional wrestling.
