Block 1:
Taz opens today’s show by discussing last night’s episode of Smackdown Live.
He says that WWE is forcing their Champion, Jinder Mahal, to wrestle way too much on television. Unfortunately, in every match he works he’s a bumping machine as well and Taz thinks WWE is stripping him of all the heat he had by having him bump around the ring for people every Tuesday. He doesn’t think Mahal should be used in this fashion week after week.
Mahal is overexposed right now, and this is not the way WWE usually treats their Champions. For this reason, Taz thinks we might have a new WWE Champion after SummerSlam. He imagines that a Nakamura win in Brooklyn (where he’ll be a major babyface) would be an amazing moment, but the outgoing Champion needs to come out of his loss hot as well, and that’s not the case with Mahal right now.
Taz says that in the next week or two WWE needs to find a way to get Mahal some heat by attacking Nakamura to build towards their match at SummerSlam. Unfortunately, in Taz’s opinion these two guys are going to struggle finding chemistry when they step into the ring together. He says they’re both big, tall men whose in-ring styles are completely different, and that usually doesn’t equal a great match.
Taz believes that WWE might have an issue with Mahal’s promo work because we haven’t seen him with a mic in a while now. Taz thinks that Mahal’s work is fine, but he could probably still work on it a little bit. On the other hand, Taz is sure that WWE is fine with Mahal’s in-ring work because he’s wrestling lengthy matches on television each week.
