He says he never once got angry at Bobby Heenan while working with him because Heenan was so funny. It was impossible to get angry at someone who’s that hilarious. Schiavone says that his relationship with Heenan suffered for years because when Heenan was involved in a lawsuit with WCW after his release, Schiavone didn’t call his friend, and sided with the company instead. He still regrets that decision, but luckily they were able to make up years later.
A listener calls into the show and asks Schiavone if there’s any truth to the rumour that commentators are expected to ‘pee in their pants’ during shows if they have to use the bathroom that bad. Schiavone says he was never strictly told that, but he also was never in a position where he had to use the washroom bad enough to find out.
Ross recalls Booker T having to leave right in the middle of a show once to use the washroom shortly after he began doing commentary. Ross informs that he once spent one entire PPV passing kidney stone fragments. Luckily, the booth was located at the top of the ramp and he could run back and forth to the washroom in between segments. After that show he went to the hospital and spent the rest of the night in the Emergency Room.
That sums up today’s episode of The Ross Report. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
