Blocks 3 & 4:
Taz thought Aleister Black and Kyle O’ Reilly had a great match last night but he doesn’t think it was ‘amazing’, in spite of how many time Mauro Ranallo tried to tell us it was. He says he’s a big fan of O’ Reilly and he feels that O’ Reilly portrays the MMA gimmick perfectly. He has the perfect body for that gimmick because he doesn’t look like a bodybuilder, he looks real.
Speaking about entrance music, Taz says that from his experience wrestlers are always part of the conversation when determining what entrance music they will have. When he came into WWE, he was brought into a meeting where he was able to make clear what he wanted for music. He adds that WWE has a build up of stock music, and if a certain theme matches a particular performer, that’s what they’ll use.
A listener calls into the show and says that he feels John Cena is the greatest sports entertainer of all time, based on longevity and merchandise sales. Taz says it’s hard to argue with that comment, but when factoring in merchandise sales you must consider that performers like Hulk Hogan weren’t capable of selling merchandise on the internet.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
