Angle says this is first time back in Pittsburgh and he guarantees the fans an incredible show. He announces The Big Show Vs. Big Cass, Jason Jordan on Miz TV, and the Triple Threat between Braun Strowman Vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Samoa Joe. Angle says he wants to personally address the WWE Universe before the show starts. Angle says that today marks the 21st anniversary of him winning his Olymic gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck and he wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the fans. Angle thanks the fans and leaves…but wait…

Angle’s old friend, Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring. Paul Heyman addresses Angle and says he sees what he’s trying to do; he wants to take the title from Brock Lesnar. Heyman says there is no other reason Angle would book Lesnar in a Fatal 4-Way with the most stacked heavyweights in WWE’s history.
Heyman mentions all three men in the match with Lesnar come SummerSlam, building all three men up, except for Samoa Joe, who he called a disgrace. Heyman says he understands and respects what Angle is doing, he has a board of directors and a chairman breathing down his neck. Heyman reckons Joe, Reigns and Strowman will take Lesnar out together, then fight over the title. Heyman suggests we change the name of the show to “SummerSlam 2017: Brock Lesnar loses the Universal Championship”.
Heyman makes reference to the recent gossip that Lesnar is going to UFC because he says Angle wants Lesnar to make the “Ultimate” price. That being said, if Lesnar loses, both he and Heyman will leave WWE. However, Brock Lesnar won’t lose the WWE Universal Championship to Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, or Roman Reigns and at the end of the night he will still be the Champion.

Anderson tries to boot him back, but Matt blocks it and elbow drops him off the second rope. Matt hits a flying elbow and connects with a Side Effect for a near fall. Winners: The Hardy Boyz
The Hardy Boyz celebrate on the ramp and wave at The Revival. The Revival tells them to keep moving. They’ll never hit a Swanton Bomb on them. The Revival gets up from commentary, and a brawl breaks out between the two teams. The Hardy Boyz make a comeback and throw Gallows into the LED screens. They then knock Dash Wilder and Anderson off the stage. Jeff hits Scott Dawson with a sit-out Twist of Fate, and Matt follows up with a regular Twist of Fate. Finally, they hit Poetry in Motion off the stage onto Wilder and Anderson. The Hardy Boyz celebrate.

Renee Young is backstage with Dean Ambrose. Replays are shown of Ambrose and Seth Rollins beating The Miz and The Miztourage. Ambrose then avoided giving Rollins a fist bump. She asks if he’s getting back together with Rollins. Ambrose says they looked good out there and felt like old times, but as far as getting back together… Seth Rollins walks up to him. Rollins agrees with Ambrose about last week being special. Ambrose says he still doesn’t trust Rollins. As much as the WWE Universe might want it, and maybe he does too, he got burned by Rollins once. It won’t happen again. Ambrose walks off.

We return to see Seth Rollins walking backstage, and he runs into Sheamus and Cesaro. They tell Seth that he and Dean have the opposite problem they had because they initially hated each other but became best friends and Tag Team Champions. Sheamus says Dean used to be Seth’s best friend but now he’s an isolated loner who couldn’t even get on Ride Along. Cesaro says maybe Seth can get a new show called Ride Alone. Seth shouts at them at says he’ll fight either of them tonight, to which Sheamus gets in his face and says it’s him. Sheamus tells Rollins that he’s dug himself a hole and he should learn to stop digging.
We have a six-man tag team match with the cruisersweights coming up, and out comes Akira Tozawa with Titus O’Neil.

TJP, Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese Vs. Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander & Akira Tozawa
The match opens with Tony Nese and Cedric Alexander. Nese ducks Cedric and poses with his impressive arms. They lock-up and Swann hits an arm drag, headscissors, then a dropkick and Nese scrambles to his corner.
Daivari tags in and so does Rich Swann. The two trade leap frogs before Swann catches him with a headscissors and applies a shoulder lock. Tozawa tags in and hits an axe handle to Daivari’s shoulder from the top rope. Tozawa hits the ropes and kicks Daivari before landing a senton for a two count.
Daivari attacks a distracted Tozawa and slams him shoulder-first into the mat – bear in mind Tozawa’s shoulder is injured. Tozawa screams and holds the shoulder against the bottom rope, while Titus tries to convince him to quit the match and preserve himself.
