Raw opens with a look back at last week’s main event with Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe, which Braun Strowman ended in chaos.

Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring along with his beloved “You Suck” chants. Angle welcomes us to Raw and says he’s been dealing with a private matter for a while now, which has affected his ability as general manager. So last week, he made his problem public when he introduced us to his son and new Raw roster member, Jason Jordan. He says he was nervous, terrified even, but when he saw him come down the ramp he knew he did the right thing.
This past week he has been catching-up with Jordan and tonight we will get to see him in action. He’s giving Jordan an opportunity and the rest is up to him. He also gave a shot to Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe last week but Braun Strowman had other things in mind. So, at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar will face…
“At @SummerSlam, @BrockLesnar is going to face–”
Not so fast, @RealKurtAngle… HERE COMES @BraunStrowman! #RAW pic.twitter.com/zxB6ntr39B— WWE (@WWE) July 25, 2017
Braun Strowman interrupts Angle and tells him the next words out of his mouth better be his name. He says that unlike Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns, he actually won his match at Great Balls of Fire. And Brock Lesnar is scared of him. Strowman says that Lesnar fears him and he will break him in half at SummerSlam. Samoa Joe comes out next!
Joe gets his name chanted by the fans as he makes his way to the ring. Joe says that fortunately for Braun, they’ve never really crosses paths but allows him to introduce himself: he’s Samoa Joe and he’s the man that tamed The Beast. He says he doesn’t fear Lesnar and he definitely doesn’t fear Strowman. And the only reason he isn’t kicking his teeth in right now is because all he did last week was save Roman Reigns from losing to him for a 3rd straight time. Joe turns to Angle and says Braun and Roman clearly have a lot left to settle, so Kurt should give him The Beast.
Well, Roman Reigns has other ideas. Roman comes down to the ring and says he finds it funny that Joe talks so much because he hasn’t done anything. He says that in just five years he has been a US Champion, Tag Team Champion, 3X WWE World Champion, a Royal Rumble winner, main-evented three WrestleMania’s and retired The Undertaker. He asks Braun and Joe to tell him what they’ve done since coming here. The three of them almost start brawling but Angle gets in between and says he has made up his mind and he announces that Samoa Joe will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. And so will Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman!

Angle turns to leave and Samoa Joe shouts at him to stop but Angle says he’s made his decision and it’s over when he says so. Braun says he wants to leave bodies in his wake and Roman hits him! Braun grabs both Roman and Joe by the throat but they both kick him and knock him from the ring. Roman and Joe dump Strowman over the barricade and then Joe hits Reigns!
Inside the ring, Joe and Reigns brawl until Strowman comes back and throws Roman into the ring post, then hits Joe. Security come running down but Braun destroys them all with clotheslines and big boots, tosses one over the ropes like a rag doll, then throws another over the ropes and onto the floor. Joe then grabs Strowman from behind with the Coquida Clutch and gets him down to one knee but then a few Raw Superstar’s run down and try to separate them but Braun backs up into the corner. Roman returns and Spear’s Strowman with Joe on his back and a few others around them. Roman then fights off a few guys before Braun grabs him and hits the running powerslam! Braun leaves with a grin as Roman is down and Joe is being held back on the outside!

We come back from the break to see Bálor send Samson into the barricade before smashing his face off it a few times. Bálor puts him back in the ring and applies a headlock. Samson whips him off, misses a clothesline, but eventually connects with one. Samson clubs away at him and starts attacking the injured shoulder. Samson wraps it off the apron before putting him in the ring and applying an arm bar.
Bálor comes back with a kick to the face before hitting the ropes, but Samson hits him with a left hand. Samson then drops a knee on the shoulder before taunting the crowd. Samson drags him to the ring post and slams the shoulder off it. Samson throws a timekeeper out of the way and grabs a steel chair. Bálor attacks him while he gets into the ring, and the chair falls to the floor.

Bálor reverses a whip, so Samson tries to counter with a sunset flip. Bálor rolls through that and dropkicks him in the face. Samson quickly tackles him to the corner before hitting a snapmare and kicking the shoulder. Samson then reapplies an arm bar. Bálor fights out and boots him in the face before hitting a pair of running forearms and a dropkick. Bálor stomps away at him before getting out of the ring and grabbing a steel chair. Samson kicks him in the midsection before the chair is used on him. Samson then cracks it off his shoulder. Bálor rolls out of the ring in pain.
*Commercial Break*
We come back from the break to see Samson try to take him down, but Bálor takes him down instead. Samson kicks him out of the ring and kicks him shoulder-first into the barricade. Samson gets him in the ring and connects with a nice shoulder-breaker for a near fall. During the commercial break, Samson whipped him hard into the corner. Samson picks up the steel chair and wedges it between the top and middle turnbuckles.
Samson tries to send him into the chair, but Bálor reverses it. Samson hits the chair headfirst. Bálor chops and forearms him before hitting an overhead kick. Bálor chops him in the corner before Samson boots him. Samson throws him out of the ring, but Bálor traps him in the apron and punches away at him. Bálor then gets on the apron and stomps away at him.
Samson eventually falls down behind the apron. When he emerges from out of it, Bálor kicks him in the face. Bálor then hits a running dropkick into the barricade. Bálor puts him in the ring and grabs the steel chair. Bálor stands over him before slamming the chair off his back four times. Samson screams in pain. Bálor hits a running dropkick in the corner before being dropkicked into it. Bálor goes to the top rope and hits the Coup de Grâce.

We return to see a sit-down interview between Angle and Jordan from last week.
A father and son have gotten to know each other for the past week…now it’s time to see @RealKurtAngle‘s son @JasonJordanJJ in action! #RAW pic.twitter.com/BMIVYvd7f0

Renee Young is interviewing Kurt Angle backstage and asking him about his relationship with Jason Jordan when Emma interrupts. She is unhappy with her place on the card and demands a greater share of the spotlight. When Angle doesn’t appear to be receptive to her demands, she threatens to date Jason Jordan to try and get Angle’s attention. Angle says she has every right to prove herself here in the WWE, so tonight she will face Nia Jax. Emma looks like she regrets barging in and smack talking the GM.
Jordan will be in action after the break! We see Enzo Amore and The Big Show backstage and Enzo says he needs to prove himself to Big Cass. Big Show says last week didn’t go well and Cass says it’s fine because he has a plan.
