Even though Bill Goldberg said his farewells to the WWE Universe this past Monday after RAW, the belief is that he will be back with the company in the future.
Dave Meltzer mentioned in the latest installment of The Wrestling Observer Newsltter that Goldberg’s character was too hot, his merchandise was sell pretty good, his promos were strong and the company didn’t really want him to go.
Meltzer pointed out that WWE will need strong names for next year’s WrestleMania, as the Undertaker has retired and The Rock is too busy filming movies to appear on the annual event. That only leaves Kurt Angle (if he can pass the physical) and Triple H as big names for the event. With the right storyline and opponent, Goldberg’s next return could be another successful one, with another blockbuster blowoff match at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania.
