NXT Championship Match
(C) Bobby Roode Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Chants for both men break out as they size each other up. They both go for a low kick to start the match. Roode immediately shows his dirty side and goes after Nakamura’s knee. Nakamura cuts him off with a front facelock into a waistlock.
Nakamura taunts Roode against the ropes and Roode doesn’t look amused one bit. He laughs at first, but then yells at him to bring it. Roode poses and gets kicked in the chest. Nakamura does it again just to make him even more upset. Roode knocks him down with a shoulder block, but Shinsuke recovers and hits a knee drop to the head.
Roode makes a comeback and knocks Nakamura off the apron into the barricade. Roode chokes him against the middle rope before releasing on the five count from the ref. The crowd continues to chant for both men as Roode stomps Shinsuke in the corner. Roode continues to control the pace of the match as he locks in a nerve hold. He wrenches Nakamura’s neck to keep him grounded for a long time.

Nakamura eventually fights out and they take each other out. Both men get back up to their feet as the fans sing along Nakamura’s theme song. Nakamura hits Roode with a series of strikes and kicks, taking the champion down. He follows it up with a running knee to Roode’s gut which sends Roode crashing down to ringside.
Nakamura places Roode on the apron and hits him with a running knee. Roode makes a desperate attempt to gain back control of the match as he takes Nakamura down with a clothesline. Shinsuke hits a running dropkick out of nowhere as he signals for the Kinshasa. Roode dodges it and chops Nakamura’s injured knee from behind. Roode starts to work on the injured knee almost immediately. Roode slams the back of Nakamura’s knee against the steel ringpost.
The end may be near as Roode’s relentless attack continues. Roode locks in the Figure 4 leglock as Nakamura screams in pain. He tries desperately to edge closer to the ropes. Nakamura manages to reverse the pressure on the Figure 4. Roode breaks out and screams at Nakamura to quit, Nakamura catches Roode off-guard and locks in an armbar! Roode tries to sit-up but Nakamura transitions the armbar into a Triangle. Roode tries to lift him up for a powerbomb but fails and Nakamura still has the armbar locked-in. Bobby then reaches the ropes with the tip of his boot!
Nakamura hits Roode with kicks in the corner before attempting a running knee, which Roode dodges, causing Nakamura to crash knee-fist into the turnbuckle. Roode dodges a head kick from Shinsuke and hits a backstabber for another near-fall. Roode and Nakamura get back to their feet and trade punches. Nakamura hits Roode with a big combo before Roode chops him right in the knee. Roode attempts a Glorious DDT but Nakamura plants him on his face before hitting a running knee for another nearfall.

Bobby retreats outside of the ring and Nakamura forces him back inside. As Shinsuke climbs back in, Bobby kicks the rope into his groin, then hits the Glorious DDT for a close two count! After the kick out, Bobby Roode goes outside the ring and grabs the ring bell. Roode brings the bell inside, looking to get himself disqualified but the referee grabs it. Nakamura lands a head-kick on Roode then grabs him from behind and suplexes him. Nakamura runs for Kinshasha but Roode counters with a huge spinebuster for a near-fall!
Roode lifts Nakamura and looks for the Glorius DDT again but Nakamura shoves him into the corner. Nakamura kicks Roode, then runs at him but Bobby chop-blocks his knee and Shinsuke flips. Roode sits atop the ropes, Nakamura’s head under his arm, and lands a tornado Glorious DDT and that is it!
Winner: Bobby Roode
