The 2023 Royal Rumble event is going down tonight in San Antonio. Plenty of big names are in town for the massive event, but one major name apparently isn’t going to be at the show. It seems that since Charlotte Flair wasn’t booked for a match, so she’s sticking around for the Royal Rumble.

According to a report from PW Insider, Charlotte Flair is not at the Royal Rumble. It is not known whether she filmed something in advance that will air during the show, but the Queen is not in the Alamodome.

WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is not backstage at the Royal Rumble event and will not be appearing live before the crowd in Texas, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Flair was in San Antonio earlier today for the company but we are told was never scheduled to be on the PPV live and has already departed.    WWE shot an angle last night to set her vs. Sonya Deville for next week’s Smackdown episode.

It’s unknown if she taped a Rumble segment that will air during the show, but if one does, it was taped before she left town.

This is very interesting, especially considering a recent report about Ronda Rousey. It turns out that Rousey was originally supposed to hold the SmackDown Women’s Title until the Royal Rumble. Those plans were changed to bump up Rousey’s title loss, and she took a hiatus.

Only time will tell what happens as we head into the Royal Rumble event. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
