After a fairly predictable but pretty entertaining WrestleMania, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the WWE writers haven't forgotten how to shock fans. I was very glad to see Ryback turn heel on John Cena, I've said it before and I'll say it again - I see big things for Ryback. It was also nice to see the WWE take their blinders off and realize that they have a huge star on their hands with Dolph Ziggler, Ziggler got what he rightfully deserved and that's main event status.
What will we see for Raw for the rest of this year? It's an interesting question to ponder. To say John Cena has been shoved down our throats is not even an understatement anymore, more of just a cruel joke. I really want to see Ryback come into his own, the guys is money and I wouldn't mind seeing him feud with Cena or The Undertaker. We know Brock Lesnar will be in the picture somehow, which I am less excited about than I was last year given how lame the WWE treated his return this year. Three whole matches for Lesnar, woo hoo!
Now onto to something that the WWE desperately needs to fix - their Smackdown brand. I know the WWE has no intention of combining brands which is fine, but in my view Smackdown is a joke at this point and when the WWE stars treating it like an important show, the fans will start treating it like an important show. We know that Ziggler now has the heavyweight title which will add some much needed interest to the fledgeling brand.
And for the CM Punk dilemma? I'm just not sure what the WWE's plans are for him at this point, I know he has stated he was going to take some time off after Mania. Will CM Punk stick around if he dosen't have anything to do with the WWE title? I stated before that I wouldn't be shocked if CM Punk headed to TNA, that statement was meant with a lot of people telling me that it was basically an idiotic statement. But let's rewind a few years back, CM Punk wasn't happy with his status in the WWE and was planning on not resigning, with Punks drive and attitude I just don't see him taking a backseat in the WWE. Now do I think it's very likely? No, but never say never.
