Former MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu had signed with WWE earlier this year and he finally made an impactful debut during the June 21st edition of Friday Night SmackDown, and it appears Mark Henry tried to get him signed to WWE in the past but to no avail.

During the June 21st edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Jacob Fatu made his long-awaited debut. He wreaked havoc on Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Despite Rhodes’ attempt to fight back, he was swiftly overwhelmed by Fatu’s power. Fatu concluded the night by slamming Rhodes onto the announcer’s desk and aligning himself with Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, marking shocking end to the show.

Mark Henry recently left AEW after his contract expired. The WWE Hall of Famer, known for his scouting prowess, had his sights set on Jacob Fatu for quite some time. During the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, The World’s Strongest Man discussed Fatu’s debut on SmackDown.

Mark Henry revealed that he had attempted to get The Samoan Werewolf signed to WWE years ago, but the company showed no interest at that time.

“Jacob Fatu really should have been in WWE five, ten years ago,” said Henry.” He had troubles. He was somebody that was on my radar. I wanted him; I wanted to make him a Mark Henry guy, and I kept being told no. I’m so glad, I thank God every day that people get second chances. And for him to get his on a stage like this is super, super impressive.”

We have also reported the likely reason for Jacob Fatu’s delayed debut in WWE, which had to do with his criminal record. With The Bloodline 2.0 gaining significant momentum, fans can’t wait to see how Fatu will impact the storyline and contribute to the faction’s dominance in WWE.
