Chad Gable made a significant character shift when he turned heel back in April and has been feuding with Sami Zayn since then. It all culminated in a singles match for the Intercontinental Championship at Clash at The Castle.

During the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event, Chad Gable clearly had a lot of momentum going into his Intercontinental Title clash against Sami Zayn. After all, the two have a lot of history and are currently part of one of WWE’s hottest angles.

It was an evenly paced matchup as both competitors gave it their all to pick up the win and walk out as the Intercontinental Champion. The match included a lot of memorable moments and near falls to boot. Gable truly showed the world why he is an in-ring technician as he systematically dismantled Sami Zayn throughout the match.

Sami Zayn would then counter Chad Gable and gain back momentum, as he had Gable on the ropes as well. A lot of shenanigans happened afterwards as Chad Gable tried to involve Otis and Maxxine Dupri in the match to no avail.

When all was said and done, it was Sami Zayn who would ultimately pick up the win after Gable was distracted by Otis carrying out Maxxine Dupri instead of helping him by attacking Sami Zayn.

It remains to be seen whether Chad Gable will ever end up winning the Intercontinental Championship, as it has become abundantly clear that Gable’s storyline with Zayn and Otis is far from over. Nonetheless, many fans are disappointed with this outcome.
