Goldberg’s status as free agent following the expiration of his WWE contract has sparked considerable speculation among wrestling fans. While many believed he might make a move to AEW, Goldberg himself recently debunked such rumors. In fact, reports suggest that Goldberg had set a high asking price for AEW from the start.

Despite fan anticipation, Goldberg’s anticipated debut at All In last year never came to fruition. His decision to steer clear of AEW surprised many, especially considering his recent criticism of the company, labeling it as “too cheesy” for his liking.

Dave Meltzer shared insights on Goldberg’s reluctance to join AEW during a discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio. He suggested that Goldberg’s asking price was a significant factor.

“Bill’s asking price is really high. It’s always been that. I haven’t heard any details on either side. If it was a money thing or if he didn’t like the product.”

With Goldberg’s stance clear on not joining AEW in the foreseeable future and a WWE return seemingly off the table, wrestling fans are left to ponder his next move. Whether relieved or disappointed by this development, it’s evident that Goldberg’s presence won’t be gracing Tony Khan’s promotion anytime soon.
