The Imperium, consisting of Ludwig Kaiser, Giovanni Vince, and their leader, GUNTHER was regarded to be one of the most close-knit and dominant forces in the WWE landscape. However, Kaiser chose to betray his close ally after their match loss on tonight’s edition of RAW.

The trio came down to the ring as part of GUNTHER’s return since WrestleMania 40. He announced that he was going to compete in the upcoming King of the Ring Tournament only to have himself interrupted by New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods leading to an impromptu tag team match with GUNTHER on commentary.

The match was fast-paced and thrilling action, but in the end, it was Kingston and Woods who emerged victorious over Kaiser and Vinci. As they were headed backstage, Ludwig Kaiser suddenly snapped and tossed Giovanni Vinci on the ring apron.

He then began a vicious assault on his long-time ally, using the ringside environment, and looked to culminate with a dropkick on the steel steps to his head, only to be stopped by WWE officials. However, as Kaiser was headed to the back, he rushed back and kicked Vinci’s head into the steps anyway to leave him battered.
