Vince McMahon’s announcement of the XFL’s 2020 revival included a promise that it would be kept separate from WWE and their resources. It was said that the two companies would not have anything to do with each other, but as we previously reported that isn’t the case at all.
The eight cities and locations were announced that the XFL plans to use when they launch in February 2020. New York City was among those teams listed and NYC is a very special place to WWE. Not only did the company consider the New York area its territory for the longest time in the early days, but they are bringing WrestleMania back to Met Life Stadium in New Jersey next year which is in the immediate area.
Brad Shepard, who previously reported that the WWE’s employees have way more to do with XFL than previously thought, has uncovered another piece of evidence to support his report. He was able to pinpoint the same graphics being used to the XFL’s announcement of New York as a team and a video package the company used when announced WrestleMania 35’s location.
This is indeed a pretty compelling piece of evidence. If I were a betting man more pieces could very well be uncovered later on that shows XFL using other elements from WWE’s extensive bag of video tricks.
