Alexa Bliss is currently out of action after she suffered a concussion while tagging with Mickie James at a house show against Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax. This injury happened well before Jax broke Becky Lynch’s face, but it still doesn’t help Little Miss Bliss.
General Manager Elect Baron Corbin gave Alexa Bliss a new role on Raw last night where she is not in charge of the women as their authority figure. She used this new power to book a segment with Bayley and Sasha Banks later on in the show and while Bayley made a joke about having no time for a “This Is Your Life” segment, it turns out that the script they had for Raw this week was no better.
But as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that perhaps WWE has a much bigger plan for Bliss as an authority figure after TLC thanks to Strowman. Even if Braun Strowan’s elbow operation turned out to be more serious than once thought.
“I wonder if Braun will just show up because he could just show up and powerslam him and do it in like 30 seconds. If they don’t advertise him and do that everyone will be fine with it. Plus I think people want [Corbin] to be foiled and again, I don’t know that this is gonna happen but it certainly feels like it could be Baron to be out and Alexa Bliss to be in the spot.”
Baron Corbin seems pretty confident that he’s going to become the full-time Raw GM after TLC and the WWE Universe would love to see his plans ruined by an angry Monster Among Men. Strowman might not be able to work a full match, but a running powerslam and a quick pinfall might be all it takes for Alexa Bliss to find herself in a new spot on Raw.
If Braun Strowman does, in fact, come down and cause the situation which would allow Bliss to get a full-time gig as Raw GM, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s helped her out before as the two were Team Little Big in the first season of WWE Mixed Match Challenge.
Hopefully, Alexa Bliss will be able to get medically cleared so she can compete. She hasn’t retired yet and has spoken about not having any plans to do so. But only time will tell what is next for Bliss in WWE as they want to make sure that they take the best care of her that they can considering how many concussions she has suffered in such a short amount of time and the legitimate concern they obviously have for her health.
