Daniel Bryan Explains His Heel Turn & Adopts A New Nickname On WWE SmackDown Live

Daniel Bryan turned heel after he defeated AJ Styles for the WWE Championship on the go-home show for Survivor Series. It was a shocking turn of events, but nothing would compare to what happened on the SmackDown Live after Survivor Series.
Daniel Bryan came out with his WWE Championship and while talking about himself in the third person the whole time as “you” he said that Daniel Bryan as we once knew him is dead. He has been reborn as “The New Daniel Bryan.” Not only did his dress resemble a hipster of some kind.
He said that Brock Lesnar essentially washed away the old Daniel Bryan after his heel turn was complete and he spoke about his rehab and return from injury while talking about himself as “you.” He spoke about his return to the ring and how that time in the hyperbaric chamber three hours a week helped him focus on his dream.
He said that his dreams kicked AJ Styles in the groin last week as well. It looks like Daniel Bryan is turning a new leaf. And it’s a very interesting direction indeed. But he promises that it is a new and improved version of himself. After his promo was over, he had the ring announcer introduce himself as “The New Daniel Bryan” so that might be his new name, or at least it’s certainly his new gimmick.
