WWE is considered home to a lot of people who aren’t currently with the company at this point. It could be seen as a launching pad to other industries, but everyone loves a good homecoming.
Joe Peisich said on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast that Batista showing up for SmackDown 1000 in order to take part in an Evolution reunion might not be the only reason why he’s coming back because WWE could have more in store for the former World Champion.
“Batista may be signing a short-term deal with WWE at SmackDown to possibly appear at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania.”
If The Animal made his return to WWE television, it would be a long time coming. He is currently working on whatever project he has next in line but with the Guardians Of The Galaxy films apparently on hold and writer/director James Gunn out of the picture it seems like Batista might now want to come back and he’s appearing to try to get axed by Disney with his various interview stops where he’s spoken against the company.
Batista always said he wanted another WWE run and desired a program with Triple H. Only time will tell if he gets exactly what he wants, but it appears that we could be seeing a return of Batista sooner than later anyway.
