It looks like Jonathan Coachman’s return to WWE’s Raw announce team didn’t turn out the way he would have liked. Not only has he been praised for his work on pretty much exclusively the Golf Channel, but he is now off the show entirely.
As Renee Young steps into her new role as a full-time member of the Raw announce team, it looks like Coachman will, in fact, be taking over Young’s previous duties as she takes his role in a WWE job-swap. WWE Corporate confirmed Coachman’s new job responsibilities in their release concerning Young’s new gig.
So if you want to see Jonathan Coachman, you can find him bringing his unique view of the pro wrestling business to the kickoff shows before WWE’s pay-per-views. Coachman will take on his new position this week before the Hell In A Cell event.
Coachman is still around and will also be allowed to do his other projects in the meantime as well. But for some fans, it will be a welcomed freshening up to the RAW announce team. Only time will tell if Coachman will be backstage for angles and interviews like Renee used to do as well, but that is also a role he used to play in WWE during his first run with the company.
