All In is over with and a lot of people are wondering if Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks will leave the indies and sign with WWE. But a better question might be who is WWE not interested in. After all, there is a lot of amazing indie talent out there right now.
Mike Johnson said in a PW Insider Elite audio update that WWE is “casting a wide net” in regards to who they are looking at bringing in. There is a lot of programming WWE has to fill and Fox’s deal might provide them more television shows. So you never know who could wind up in WWE next.
“I know for a fact WWE is casting a wide net. They are looking at talents in MLW, they are looking at lucha talents, they are looking at Japanese talents, they are looking at Ring Of Honor talents and basically, anybody who’s deal contractually is coming up in the near future. WWE wants to have a conversation with them.”
“They are going to be flush with money in 2019, especially toward the end of the year and they are more than happy and willing to sign as many people as they can if they believe it will better their company and that roster is going to be so jam-packed.”
“There are going to be winners and there are going to be losers and you never know it might be smarter for some of these guys to stay in Ring Of Honor or stay working the independent scene.”
“But who do I see realistically going? Whoever WWE wants to pay the most money.”
It might only be a matter of time before your favorite wrestlers are in WWE because they have taken up pretty much anyone of any value. This is why indie companies might need to start really getting aggressive with their deals so they don’t lose their top guys.
