Asuka Might Not Get Along With WWE’s Newest International Signing

Asuka was a pretty big name in Japan before coming to WWE. She was known as Kana in Stardom where she also had a good interaction with Kairi Sane and the two are still friendly.

But it turns out as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio while explaining Io Shirai’s reasons for taking a chance with WWE she might not get along with The Empress Of Tomorrow.

“But for the same reasons she wanted to go a year ago, she wanted to go. It’s the idea of WWE and Asuka did well — they’re not friends by the way at all.”

“They were in a tag team about 8 years ago. It’s not like they’re going to fight or anything they’re just not friends.”

While he did note that they aren’t likely to fight backstage, the fact he said anything at all about them not being friends “at all” could mean there’s more between the two than just a professional rivalry.
