CM Punk could be All In, but we just don’t know yet. One thing we do know is that CM Punk is due in court on May 21st.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE’s lawsuit against CM Punk and Colt Cabana is set to go to trial on May 21st which could conflict with another important date on Punk’s calendar, his UFC 225 fight on June 9th.
“I don’t know what he’ll say because he’s got that lawsuit. You know that lawsuit is going to trial on the 21st. You know that date’s official not, unless there’s a delay, May 21st the thing’s going to trial.”
“In the middle of a lawsuit he’s going to fight and this is a lawsuit where he’ll be cross-examined and testify in. No, no, no, no that’s a bad deal. That’s a really bad deal. He’s going to have to get that thing delayed past June 9th. Because that doesn’t make any sense at all. But that’s the date that’s on the docket for. I’m shocked that it’s gone this far.”
It was noted that the CM Punk case is interesting because either Punk completely lied about having staph or he didn’t. Therefore since there’s no shade of grey he probably isn’t lying or he would have settled out of court. It’s also interesting how Melzer has never credited our exclusive which broke the news about his upcoming trial date.
Something will happen sooner or later but it is somewhat shocking that this is going to trial at all. However, something might need to budge because Punk’s June 9th UFC fight in Chicago against Michael Jackson is coming up fast.
